“We are living in a time obsessed with actuality. People like immediacy, haste and actuality and poetry is, I repeat, timeless. This means it doesn’t correspond to what’s happening. It is out-of-the-moment”
— Jean Cocteau (Poet, visual artist, designer, critic and probably the first design poet)
Welcome to The Artful Exchange with The Poetic Designer. This is the podcast where art, design and poetry intersect. My focus is mainly on voices that often go unheard. By shining a spotlight on emerging talents, and lesser-known creators who are making waves within their fields. Occationally with other surprices in between:-)
Through interviews, poetry readings and storytelling, I hope to inspire you to unleach your creative side, not find your new favorite creative to follow.
Come join in every month as a new episode is released. Sometimes once, and sometimes twice a month. All depending on you the listener and how much you enjoy 'The Artful Exchange'. Please let us know. Both cheers and jeers will help let us know how to get better.

Listen to the episode with the Spanish award winning interior design firm, Masquespacio. From their trails and tribulations. From starting up to where they are today. It is a modern love story, about a powerful couple who forged their way together in a difficult world of design making.
It was such a pleasure to get to know the man behind the idea to open a gallery in a ski resort in France only focusing on Skandinavian art. That is quite a task to undertake. Andreas has forged his way through and built up a successfull gallery growing annually. A true inspiring story.

Cristiana Giachetti is an Italian artist I admire a lot. Her work is full of passion and rawness. Just a few years ago she decided to leave the corporate world for good and dedicate herself fulltime to art. Which she has done with great success.

Episode 6 is a great talk with the Australian landscape artist, Zoe Grey. She is based in Hobart, Australia.
Since Tassie is so close to my heart, it is only natural I bring in talents from OZ too.
I became aware of Zoe a few years ago and have been following her ever since. She recently won the, ‘Hadleys Art Prize in Australia, which is a prestigious art prize for Australian landscape art. Zoe, a young, and very much, new and rising star in the art world, won the prize with her landscape painting, ‘The Shape of Rock’. Come join us as we learn more about her as an artist and her beautiful island filled with inspiration for her incredible works. How she works and future plans.

Deborah is a UK-based poet, editor, and educator who has dedicated her life to bringing the power of poetry to diverse audiences. Her work with poetry has spanned dementia care, hospice support, vulnerable women's groups, and schools, all while lecturing at universities like Worcester and Keele.
In 2012, Deborah launched the incredible "Emergency Poet" project, offering poetry on prescription from a vintage ambulance—a beautifully poetic approach to healing. In 2019, she co-founded the world’s first walk-in Poetry Pharmacy in Shropshire with her partner, poet James Sheard. This space blends literature with mental health support, and Deborah’s mission to make poetry accessible continues to grow. With her second location now in London, her work has made poetry more alive and interactive than ever. Her debut poetry collection, Dirty Laundry, caught my attention, and before, and since then, she has authored several more. Through her poetry, her books, and her unique approach, she’s managed to create an extraordinary bridge between art and healing.
Coming out December 1st.
