1.The Trønders

A Quirky Guide to Trondheim, Trønderland and Its People.

A fun and somewhat

lighthearted anthropological exploration! With its humorous chapters on Trønder culture, the trøndersk 'language', history, quirks, and local events like the upcoming World Ski Championship, it's likely to blend cultural insight with amusing anecdotes, giving readers both an entertaining and informative look at life in Trondheim and Trøndelag.

2.Time & Roots

Welcome to Timeless Roots

There are moments when I feel the pull of something invisible, something deep within me, like a quiet calling, or a scream from the past. It’s not a memory, but a sensation. A feeling of belonging to something greater, something older than I can fully understand.

This exhibition is born from that pull.

I have spent much of my life tracing the contours of my roots, searching for their meaning, their origins, and how they shape and stretch beyond what I can see. Time, like an unseen companion, has walked beside me in this journey, eroding, refining, and reshaping what I thought I knew about myself.

As someone who has grown up and lived across several cultures, with roots planted in vastly different lands, I have often felt caught between worlds. The questions of where I belong and what home truly means have followed me for as long as I can remember. They have shaped not only who I am, but how I see the world.

Timeless Rootsis an exploration of these questions. An invitation to reflect on belonging, memory, identity, and the silent links that connect us across time and place. It is a space for all of us to consider the stories we carry in our bones, the landscapes etched into our hearts, and the invisible ties that bind us to each other.

Thank you for being here. I am so grateful to share this journey with you.

3.Between Worlds

What does it mean to belong? For some, the answer is as simple as a familiar street or a childhood home. But for Third Culture Kids (TCKs), belonging often becomes a complex question spanning from multiple cultures, languages, and experiences. These are the children who grow up in different countries, who navigate diverse worlds, and who learn to carry pieces of various places within their hearts. As a TCK myself, and an artist, my work has long been rooted in exploring themes of identity, origins, and the search for belonging. Over time, this journey led me to reflect deeply on my experience as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) and my upbringing, shaped by the places and people that have left their mark on me. The questions I sought to answer visually, evolved into a need to dig deeper, to express the TCK experience not only visually but also in writing. I understand the intricacies of feeling like a global citizen while struggling to find a singular place to call home.

The images you see in this exhibiion are full-graphic works, created through a long and exploratory process. Some are hand-drawn with pencil and ink, while others are made digitally using programs like Corel Painter and Illustrator. All the works are assembled in a digital mix A meeting between the analogue and the digital. Many of the motifs can also be found in my new book The Trønders.

This pre-launch marks the beginning of Timeless Roots, ahead of its journey into a larger interdisciplinary exhibition alongside other artists. It is an invitation to pause, reflect, and step into the landscapes of memory, identity, and time. Not only mine, but perhaps your own.
